<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dilation balloon which is excellent in pressure resistance and in which the occurrence of breakage in its peripheral direction is suppressed even when it bursts, a balloon catheter provided with the dilation balloon, and a method for manufacturing the dilation balloon for obtaining the dilation balloon. <P>SOLUTION: In order to manufacturing the dilation balloon 10 from organic polymeric material, the organic polymeric material is biaxially oriented in at least a dilation function part 1, and the orientation state of the polymer chain in the center area 1a of the dilation function part is obtained in order from one end in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the center area to the other end by a wide angle X-ray diffraction method. In this case, the orientation state is controlled so that the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of the percentage of the polymer chain oriented in the peripheral direction of the dilation function part in the oriented polymer chain may be not larger than 20 points. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
