The process involves delivering data signals representative of position coordinates and of instant inclination of a video camera with respect to a reference by an inertial unit (11). The signals are acquired during movement of the camera along a trajectory and are transmitted to a sub-system having a processing unit to process the data with recorded program. The data is processed to determine the position coordinates. An Independent claim is also included for a data transmitting and processing system.
