<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a green coloring composition for color filter which can control white to a target color temperature (K) and a color difference (Δuv) by controlling the brightness of green without changing the chromaticity of three colors and to provide a color filter formed by using the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The green coloring composition for color filter contains a pigment carrier consisting of transparent resin, its precursor or there mixture, a green pigment and a purple pigment, the green pigment and a black pigment or the green pigment and a red pigment which are dispersed into the pigment carrier. The content of the purple pigment or the black pigment is 0.005-10 wt% of the whole amount of the pigments and the content of the red pigment is 0.01-20 wt% of the whole amount of the pigments.
