PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion catalyst which is inexpensive and exhibits high activity when car fumes are cleaned.

SOLUTION: This combustion catalyst contains calcium salt, amorphous silica and a copper compound, the amorphous silica and the copper compound, at least one of crystalline silica and the amorphous silica, the calcium salt and copper oxide or at least one of the crystalline silica and the amorphous silica and the copper oxide.
