ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT EMITTING DIODE ASSEMBLY USING PHOTOCATALYTIC MATERIALS

PURPOSE: An ultraviolet light emitting diode assembly is provided to achieve the LED assebly having functions of antibiosis, sterilization and deodorization by using photocatalytic materials. CONSTITUTION: An ultraviolet light emitting diode assembly comprises a base(1) for connecting an electric power, an ultraviolet light emitting diode(3) coupled to the base, a cap(5) enclosing the ultraviolet light emitting diode and coupled to the base, and a photocatalytic material film(11) covering the circumferential surface of the cap. The photocatalytic material film is formed by coating or depositing photocatalytic materials. The photocatalytic materials are activated by the ultraviolet. The activated photocatalytic materials react with oxygen and water, thereby forming hydroxide radicals and superoxide ions which have the functions of antibiosis, sterilization and deodorization.
