METHOD FOR GENERATING A PUBLIC LONG CODE MASK IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY WITH REGARDS TO GENERATING THE PUBLIC LONG CODE MASK WITHOUT A COLLISION WITH OTHER LONG CODE MASKS BY USING OTHER PARAMETERS INSTEAD OF AN ESN(ELECTRONIC SERIAL NUMBER)

摘要

PURPOSE: A method for generating a PLCM(Public Long Code Mask) in a mobile communication system is provided to prevent a PLCM collision between defined users by using one or more than one bit of a PLCM, thereby remarkably reducing a probability of collisions caused when a 56-bit MEID(Mobile Equipment Identity) is mapped into the 42-bit PLCM. CONSTITUTION: A hashing process is performed with 39 LSBs(Least Significant Bits) of a PLCM by using SHA-1 from an MEID, and the 40th bit of the PLCM is used as a collision indication bit. A network decides whether a user's PLCM collides with other users within the network, when the user originates a call or transmits a page response, and informs the user whether a collision occurs through an ECAM(Extended Channel Assignment Message).
