SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SERVICE DIAGNOSING ALL TYPES OF FAILS GENERATED FROM DISK DRIVE

PURPOSE: A system and a method for a service diagnosing all types of fails generated from a disk drive are provided to correctly diagnose the type of the fail generated from internal operations of the disk drive by monitoring an internal operation status based on firmware of the disk drive and prevent the same type fail from being repeatedly generated by automatically updating the firmware. CONSTITUTION: An interface(103) transmits an operation status information request signal to the disk drive(110) and receives operation status information from the disk drive. A system controller(102) transmits the operation status information request signal to the interface and generates a fail information file by using the operation status information received from the interface. A fail type diagnosis unit(104) diagnoses the fail type of the disk drive by analyzing the fail type file. An output unit(105) outputs a fail type diagnosis result under control of the system controller.
