<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball with excellent flying performance with respect to a flying distance that is the biggest concern of a golfer about a golf ball. <P>SOLUTION: The cross sectional shape of a dimple admits of improvement. The dimple 4 is provided with a center projection part 7, a recessed part 8, a side wall part 9 and an edge vicinity part 10. The dimple 4 satisfies the following formula (I): R-F1<R1<2(R-F1). The radius of a virtual ball 6 of the golf ball 1 is indicated by R in the formula (I), a distance between a virtual spherical surface and a dimple center P1 is indicated by F1, and the curvature radius of the center projection part 7 is indicated by R1. The dimple 4 satisfies the following formula (II): 2.0≤R1/R2≤8.0. The curvature radius of the side wall part 9 is indicated by R2 in the formula (II). The occupancy ratio of the number of the dimples satisfying the formula (I) and the formula (II) provided on the center projection part 7 to the total number of the dimples is 50% or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
