PURPOSE: A METHOD FOR RECORDING DATA AND ALLOTTING AREAS ON A DISC-TYPE INFORMATION STORAGE MEDIUM, ITS APPARATUS, AND ITS INFORMATION STORAGE MEDIA are provided to minimize deterioration of a data reliability though there occurs an error caused by a dust, a scratch or a fingerprint stained or generated on a data area. CONSTITUTION: A data storage medium comprises a single data recording layer(L0). In a case that a record unit block is shorter than a regeneration unit block, a circumference of a track formed on a data area is longer than the regeneration unit block. Conversely, in a case that a record unit block is longer than a regeneration unit block, a circumference of a track formed on a data area is longer than the record unit block. A lead-in area is formed at an inner circumference of the data area, and a lead-out area is formed at an outer circumference of the data area.
