<p>PURPOSE: A process is provided to produce niobium suboxide powder for a solid-electrolytic capacitor, which improves fluidity of the niobium suboxide, reduces consumption of high pure magnesium, generation of magnesium oxide, and consumption related to washed magnesium oxide, and increases capacity of a furnace remarkably. CONSTITUTION: The niobium suboxide(NbOx) is produced by reacting niobium dioxide(NbOy) with niobium metal at 900-1600deg.C for 0.5-4 hours in the presence of hydrogen, wherein 0.7<x<1.3, especially 0.9<x<1.15, more especially 1<x<1.05 and 1.8<y<2.1, especially 1.9<y<2. The niobium dioxide(NbOy) is produced by reducing niobium pentoxide in the presence of flowing hydrogen at 1000-1600deg.C. And the niobium metal is obtained by reducing the niobium dioxide(NbOy) at 750-1150deg.C by using magnesium steam.</p> |
