<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element which is applicable to use under a high-temperature condition, a pressure-reduction condition, or a hermetic sealing condition by preventing gas from being produced by a resin part of an optical element including resin since the optical element using the resin produces gas from the resin part and the gas sticks on other optical components, electronic components, and semiconductor component to possibly exert an undesirable influence. <P>SOLUTION: This optical element is formed of a resin layer 20 which is formed on a substrate 10 and has a specified surface shape, and all surfaces of the resin layer other than a surface which comes into contact with the substrate 10 are coated with a coating film 30 consisting of one or more layers.
