PURPOSE: Towel fabric having excellent antibacterial property is characterized by knitting piles of a surface and a back out of different yarns, having the beautiful surface by using a shearing process and containing the back having bulkiness and excellent touch because of being comprised of natural fiber on the outside and modified cross-section yarn inside. The towel fabric is capable of being selected in accordance with a season. A manufacturing method thereof is provided. The towel fabric is useful for a towel for sports-leisure, a gown for bathing, a blanket and clothes for a baby, a student and an old man and bedclothes for a hospital and a hotel. CONSTITUTION: Towel fabric is obtained by the steps of: using polyester yarn as ground yarn(1) and braiding yarn(2); using one selected from N/P divided yarn and polyester high-multi filament yarn as surface pile yarn(3); doubling natural fiber(4') and modified cross-section yarn(4") having moisture-absorbing and quick dry function; using the doubled yarn as back pile yarn(4); forming surface piles having 3-5mm of length; dyeing the fabric at high temperature; shearing the surfac pile yarn; and then antibacterial-treating the fabric.
