PURPOSE: A multiple transducer sensor system and a method with selective activation and isolation of individual transducers are provided to isolate transducers not selected by disabling output transmission path for the transducers not selected. CONSTITUTION: A multiple transducer sensor system with selective activation and isolation of individual transducers includes transducer array, an output processing subsystem, and a selector(28). The transducer array includes a plurality of transducers. The output processing subsystem processes output relating to the transducer array. The selector(28) is connected to the transducer array. The selector(28) selects a transducer from among the transducer array by applying an enabling signal to the transducer array. The applied enabling signal enables a transmission path between the selected transducer and the output processing subsystem and allows the output signal to be transmitted to the output processing subsystem from the selected transducer.
