<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal oriented film in a good yield. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the liquid crystal oriented film has a process for thermally laminating the liquid crystal layer (2) of a liquid crystal film, wherein the liquid crystal layer (2) formed of a liquid crystalline polymer is formed on a base material film (1), on an oriented base material (3) at a temperature not lower than the glass transition point of the liquid crystalline polymer, a process for transferring the liquid crystal layer (2) to the oriented base material (3) by peeling the base material film (1) after cooling the same to a temperature not higher than the glass transition point of the liquid crystalline polymer, a process for orienting the liquid crystal layer (2) on the oriented base material (3) by reheating the liquid crystal layer (2) to a temperature not lower than the glass transition point of the liquid crystalline polymer to form a liquid crystal oriented layer (2') and a process for fixing the orientation of the liquid crystal oriented layer (2') by cooling the liquid crystal oriented layer (2') to a temperature not higher than the glass transition point of the liquid crystalline polymer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
