<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a symbol timing estimation apparatus capable of facilitating threshold setting in a symbol start detector, enhancing reception signal distortion resistance and suppressing circuit scale and power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The symbol timing estimation apparatus comprises: a matched filter 41; a synchronous adder 11 with forgetting coefficient which uses a forgetting coefficient to sequentially simultaneously add a correlative value that is calculated by the matched filter 41, so as to reduce a weight to a correlative value in the past; a multiplier 12 that multiplies the correlative value calculated by the matched filter 41 and an output value of the synchronous adder 11 with forgetting coefficient; and a symbol start detector 13 that detects a timing to start data on the basis of a result of comparing the output value of the multiplier 12 with a threshold and outputs a timing signal indicating a result of the detection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
