<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change the setting of a slave sensor in a remote monitoring system by using a cellular telephone. <P>SOLUTION: This system is composed of a remote monitoring terminal device composed of a plurality of slave sets 12a and a master set 12b connected to each of the slave sets 12a in a wireless communicable way, and controlling the slave sets; a center apparatus 13 connected to the master set 12b in a communicable way; and the cellular telephone set 16 similarly connected to the center apparatus 13 in a communicable way. When a program for changing the setting of the slave set 12b is downloaded from the center apparatus 13 to the cellular telephone 16 to change the setting, the number of times of sound/pronunciation inputted into a microphone of the cellular telephone 16 is allowed to correspond to a set value changing operation.
