1. A method performed using one or more processors, the method comprising:
determining a first filtered value associated with received analyte related data based on a first predetermined time period and the received analyte related data; determining a second filtered value associated with the received analyte related data based on a second predetermined time period and the received analyte related data; determining a variance in a rate of change of an analyte level; generating a weighted average value based on the first filtered value, the second filtered value, a weighting function, and the determined variance in the rate of change of the analyte level; determining a third filtered value associated with the received analyte related data based at least in part on the weighted average value and a predetermined parameter; modifying the weighting function based upon the third filtered value; and controlling administration of therapy based on the determined third filtered value.
