The device has grooved wheels (1) that are fixed to ends of rigid panels of a swimming pool cover. Cables (2, 11) pass through the grooves of the wheels and exert a desired force for causing the movement of the panels required for folding the panels. The cables are fixed between two ends of the cover and to an end of a winding drum (8). Supports (5) act as a stopper and support for the folded panels.
