<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety system for an elevator installation equipped with a means for avoiding a collision between cages arranged above and below and moving in a hoistway independently of each other. <P>SOLUTION: A safety controller 26 ascertains, from cage position data and lock setting data, hoistway region data with details with respect to hoistway regions in which the respective cages 2, 2' are safely movable. The safety controller 26 transmits the hoistway region data to a drive controller 16. The drive controller converts the hoistway region data into drive control signals to move the cages 2, 2' in separate hoistway regions and to move the cages 2, 2' in hoistway regions with locked hoistway doors 20.1 to 20.8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
