<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint matching device capable of taking a clear fingerprint by automatically adjusting the luminous intensity of the light source of a fingerprint sensor in response to the pressing force of a finger. <P>SOLUTION: The fingerprint matching device is provided with an image sensor sensitivity setting means 5 for setting the image sensor sensitivity of the fingerprint sensor 1, based on a decision result of a finger-placement deciding means 2 for deciding a state in which the finger is placed by the image processing of fingerprint image data outputted from the fingerprint sensor 1. The fingerprint matching device is provided with a pressure sensor 6 for detecting the pressing force of the finger pressed against the fingerprint sensor 1, a pressure deciding means 7 for deciding whether or not the value of the detected pressing force is appropriate, a light source luminous intensity setting means 8 for setting the luminous intensity of the light source of the fingerprint sensor 1 based on a decision result from the pressure deciding means 7, and a pressure state notifying means 9 for notifying a pressure state detected by the pressure deciding means 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
