POTATO INCREASED IN STARCH LEVEL OBTAINED PER PLANT BODY AND METHOD FOR CREATING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide potatoes increased in starch levels obtained per plant body in order to raise potato starch productivity, and to provide a method for creating the potatoes.

SOLUTION: The potatoes increased in tuber harvest obtained per plant body compared to nontransformed potatoes cultivated under the identical conditions are such as to be transferred with a gene encoding a DNA binding protein belonging to Dof family. The method for creating the potatoes comprises transferring potatoes with the gene to express the gene in the original potatoes.
