<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary-air supply system of an engine in which even though a motor-driven air-pump is not provided, an appropriate quantity of secondary air can be supplied to an exhaust pipe by making full use of a motor-driven turbo (supercharger), which is mounted for power improvement, as a motor-driven air-pump. <P>SOLUTION: The secondary-air-supply system comprises a motor-driven supercharger provided in the intake system of the engine, a bypass pipe connecting an intake pipe and an exhaust pipe, a diverter valve provided halfway in the bypass pipe, and an electronic control unit serving also as a driving device for those units.
