<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an operator to rewrite restriction on authentication data of an IC card, and to allow each the operator to perform management of original authentication data or to impart versatility to an authentication process by the IC card. <P>SOLUTION: Various kinds of restriction on the authentication data imparted from a server is stored in a rewritable nonvolatile memory. When the value of the inputted authentication data, or the difference between the inputted authentication data and the preceding inputted authentication data exceeds a limit, it is decided that authentication is impossible, and use of a portable terminal device installed with the IC card is inhibited. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
