<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-storing material in a paste form, which is excellent in thermal efficiency, stability to temperature changes and compatibility with the environment where it is used. <P>SOLUTION: The preparation process of a heat-storing material in a paste form comprises: an emulsification step of emulsifying a phase-changing substance and a polymerizable hydrophobic monomer in water by using a reactive emulsifier; a polymerization step of first polymerizing the hydrophobic monomer and the reactive emulsifier in emulsified particles, then or simultaneously adding a monomer containing a carboxylic group, as a hydrophilic monomer, and polymerizing the above hydrophilic monomer outside the emulsified particles; and a neutralizing step of the above obtained polymer to increase viscosity. Since the hydrophobic monomer is preliminarily incorporated in the emulsified particles of the phase changing substance and is polymerized with the reactive emulsifier in the particles, and the hydrophilic monomer is polymerized in water to increase the viscosity of the system, the heat-storing material in a paste form prepared has an excellent thermal efficiency, stability to temperature changes and compatibility to the environment where it is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
