<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management method and a system capable of simply managing the location, history, etc. of an apparatus requiring maintenance management such as a part cassette and a suction nozzle of a component mounter. <P>SOLUTION: In a management method for an apparatus such as a part cassette P that is mounted or fitted to an optional device such as a component mounter and requiring maintenance management such as storage, inspection, and repair after being removed from the device, maintenance management data for each part cassette P are stored in a data management part 8 and a database 7 in a recordable and readable way. An identification code such as a bar code 4 is given to each part cassette P. The bar code 4 of the part cassette P is read by a mobile terminal 11 to be inputted/outputted with information required for maintenance management.
