<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode having an overlay layer of a wavelength conversion material capable of decreasing the unevenness of a luminescent color. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is provided with: substrates 310, 330; a plurality of sidewalls that are installed on the substrates, form a cavity that is filled with a sealing material not containing a fluorescent material; an LED 300 arranged on the first part 310 of the substrates in the cavity; an electric connection 320 between the LED and the second part 330 of the substrates; and a fluorescent material overlay 360 arranged at the upper end of the cavity. Since the fluorescent material is not contained in the sealing material but contained in the thickness-stable overlay, unevenness in the hue of light caused by unevenness in volumes of cavities and disposing positions of LED can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
