<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator for allowing anybody to easily adjust the sound volume of an announcing device for announcing inside a riding car. <P>SOLUTION: The announcing device 3 is arranged on an upper surface of the riding car 1 for announcing inside the riding car in response to an operation state of the riding car and a state on the spot.
