<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent traffic jam and accident by prompting a driver to return such a psychological state that an upgrade is erroneously considered as a downgrade to a normal equilibrium sense to correctly recognize the upgrade and downgrade for acceleration and deceleration. <P>SOLUTION: This traffic sign installed on the shoulder of a road is used to indicate a reference for the driver of a car traveling on the road to recognize that the road is a slope. Also, the traffic sign is formed of the shape of a right angled triangle or a right angled triangle pole, or any shape having a horizontal part and a sloped side part with a specified angle relative to the horizonal part. A plurality of lines are disposed, at specified intervals, on the horizontal part (vertical part) of the shape parallel with each other so as to be recognized.
