<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a playing data converter in which musical instrument specific expression adding to playing data is more appropriately conducted. <P>SOLUTION: The playing data converter is constituted so that when a chord quantize process is set as an expression adding conversion process, the chord quantize process, which conducts a chord quantize process to the playing data, is executed. When a portamento conversion process is set as the expression adding conversion process, the portamento conversion process which conducts portamento to the playing data is executed. When a sound effect inserting process which inserts sound effects as the expression adding conversion process is set, the sound effects insertion process, that inserts the sound effects to the playing data, is executed. When an arpeggio emphasis process is set as the expression adding conversion process, the arpeggio emphasis process, which conducts arpeggio emphasis to the playing data, is executed.
