<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup/recovery system capable of preventing information leakage by interception, information alteration by changing, information loss by breakage, and the like of backup object data. <P>SOLUTION: This system comprises an MPU 21 forming, from data S to be backed up, three encrypted distributed data P1, P2 and P3, in which the data S cannot be restored from one each, but can be restored by collecting two of them; and storage parts 51, 52, and 53 provided in different positions and independently storing the distributed data P1, P2 and P3, respectively.
