A free-standing rainwater barrel (1) for collecting rainwater from a rainwater downpipe comprising an open upper end (2), sidewalls (4) comprising an internal integral overflow chute (12) with a collar (14), a non-removable attached safety frame (16) preventing children from falling into the barrel, and an internal horizontal base section (5), wherein the side walls (4) and the internal horizontal base section (5) define above the base section a watertight reservoir and below the base section a bottom-less chamber (6). The safety frame (16) is attached to the inner sidewalls of the barrel below the maximum water level capacity of the reservoir and below the upper rim of the overflow chute. |
