<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna switching controller capable of reducing the frequency for interrupting transmission/reception due to unnecessary switching of antenna, and to provide a communication terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The antenna switching control section 106 of a communication terminal 100 performs switching of antenna and acquires the receiving level of all antennas when the error rate exceeds a predetermined threshold to indicate lowering of communication quality and antenna identification information of an antenna having highest reception level corresponding to the cell of base station equipment covering the location of its own communication terminal is not stored in a storage section 107. Identification information of the antenna having highest reception level is stored in the storage section 107 in correspondence with cell identification information.
