<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern member having a minute area pattern, with which the thickness of a film forming the minute area pattern is uniform, and to attain a production method for the pattern member. <P>SOLUTION: Ink 13' is discharged into each of picture element areas on a glass substrate 11, which are minute areas into which the surface is sectioned by a black matrix 12. The ink 13' is dried, and thereby an ink layer 13 is formed such that the peripheral part of the film is thick whereas the central part of the film is thin.
