<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a coke dry extinguishing plant capable of preventing the heat exchanger from corrosion and dust deposition through preventing the circulating gas therein from dew condensation, and to provide such a plant. <P>SOLUTION: The method for operating the coke oven dry extinguishing plant involves the following practice: The temperature of a heat transfer medium to be fed to a circulating gas/heat transfer medium heat exchanger installed at a circulating gas flow path for guiding a circulating gas after discharged from a waste heat recovery boiler to a red-hot coke cooling tower is kept at a level higher than the dew condensation temperature of the circulating gas in this plant during its shutdown period. The coke oven dry extinguishing plant as described above is also provided. In starting the operation of the plant, the temperature of the heat transfer medium may be raised to a level higher than that during its ordinary operation. After beginning the operation, the temperature of the heat transfer medium may be controlled at a level higher than the dew condensation temperature of the circulating gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
