OIL LEAKAGE PREVENTING DEVICE FOR TORQUE CONVERTER OF AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent delay of torque transmission when starting operation by preventing leakage of oil from a torque converter in the condition wherein oil supply is stopped.

SOLUTION: An automatic transmission is provided with the torque converter 3 for transmitting torque to a transmission 2 through the oil supplied from an oil pump 1, and provided with a drain oil passage 4 for returning the oil to the transmission. An intake preventing means 41 for holding the drain oil is provided in the drain oil passage at least on a side adjacent to a discharge opening to prevent intake of air from the discharge opening. Delay of torque transmission when starting operation due to leakage of the oil is thereby prevented.
