<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of transmitting image data at a high speed from an image processing board through a transmission means even to an exposure head for two-dimensionally scanning over a wide range having a size of 40 cm×40 cm or more. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus comprises the image processing board for applying predetermined image processing to image data, the exposure head which is constituted to be separated from the image processing board and performs multi-channel exposure on a surface of a recording medium according to the image data transmitted from the image processing board, and a transmission means for transmitting the image data in parallel from the image processing board to the exposure head. The transmission means has a plurality of optical transmitters that convert an electric signal of each bit data of the image data to an optical signal thereof to transmit it in a parallel light and a plurality of optical receivers that receive an optical signal of each of the bit data to convert the optical signal to an electric signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
