<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that rolling by which the quality of edge drop and the prevention of roll marks on the surfaces of a sheet caused by scratching rolls by the end parts of the sheet are compatible is difficult heretofore. <P>SOLUTION: A work roll ( WR ) is divided into some virtual regions in the width direction, the length of rolling in which an end part of a sheet exists in the position is integrated and the shift position of the WR is decided so as not to use a region where the integrated value exceeds a certain value in the shift region of the WR where the edge drop does not exceed the allowable value. By this invention, both of the quality of the edge drop and the quality of the sheet surface can be attained. Furthermore, the reduction of the cost required for rolls and the increase of production by reducing the time necessary to roll changing are possible because the roll life can be prolonged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
