The procedure consists of unrolling sheet material such as paper, a non-woven material, plastic or a combination of these from a roll (1), optionally printing it on at least one side, e.g. by flexography units (2a, 2b), and then cutting patterns formed by pairs of intersecting lines that result in small pieces of a required shape becoming detached from the sheet. The cuts are made by a succession of synchronised cutting rollers (3a, 3b) alternating with anvil rollers (3c, 3d), with the sheet material passed between them at a rate of between 20 and 150 metres per minute. The cutting rollers are magnetic, covered by supple plates with electrochemically-engraved cutting wires. The cut-out pieces of material, which can be detected under visible light, UV light, luminescence or other means, have a large dimension that is preferably between 1 and 4 mm, and they are detached from the sheet material by a peeling bar and a suction unit (4).
|
