PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beltlike tubular member capable of preventing depletion of a lubricant over a prolonged period of time and capable of suppressing increase of sliding resistance to a pressing member, and to provide an image fixing device using the beltlike tubular member. SOLUTION: The image fixing device 1 for fixing a toner image on a recording medium 100 by holding the recording medium 100 which carries an unfixed toner image 100a thereon in a nip section 60 and heating and pressing the recording medium 100 with a heat fixing roll 10 includes the spirally recessed beltlike tubular member 20 having a surface roughness Rz in the axial direction of the internal surface in the range of 1.0-10.0μm, a smaller surface roughness Rz in the peripheral direction of the internal surface than the surface roughness Rz in the axial direction of the internal surface, an average valley-to-valley interval Sm in the axial direction of the internal surface in the range of 40.0-250.0μm, and a larger average valley-to-valley interval Sm in the peripheral direction of the internal surface than the average valley-to-valley interval Sm in the axial direction of the internal surface.
