<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine trouble detecting system and an engine trouble detecting method capable of accurately detecting trouble of an engine even in the case of an engine comprising an exhaust emission control device. <P>SOLUTION: This engine trouble detecting system 1 for detecting trouble of an engine 2. in which an exhaust emission control device 4 for cleaning emission of exhaust is installed, comprises a black smoke concentration measuring device 3 for measuring black smoke concentration of exhaust gas on the upstream side of the exhaust emission control device 4 in the exhaust gas flowing direction and an engine trouble determining means for determining existence of trouble in the engine 2 based on a result of the measurement by the black smoke concentration measuring device 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
