PURPOSE: A video recorder apparatus, a video service system and a method thereof are provided to extract a reference image using a facial recognition system, thereby providing an image service for the reference image. CONSTITUTION: An image photographing unit(206) photographs an image of a specific area through a camera and transfers a photographed image. A controller(204) detects a reference image included in user information through facial recognition in the photographed image and captures a still image corresponding to the photographed image in which the reference image is detected. The controller transmits the user information, the photographing information and the still image to an image service server and notifies a user of it. The photographing information comprises a photographing date and a photographing place.
