Cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprises a peptide hydrolyzate of vine leaves ( Vitis vinifera) (I) as aconitase activator and mitochondrial protector, alone or in combination with at least one other active ingredient, in a medium. An independent claim is included for preparing the composition comprising dissolving (I) in one or more solvents comprising water, glycerol, ethanol, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, ethoxylated or propoxylated diglycols, cyclic polyols, petroleum jelly and/or vegetable oil.
