at least one optical sender;at least one optical receiver;a control element, wherein said control element comprises a driver unit for driving said at least one optical sender to emit radiation and a receiver unit for sensing and evaluating electrical signals generated by said at least one optical receiver, anda communication bus extending between the control elements for each of the plurality of optical units, wherein the control element commands the receiver unit to operate in a sensing state and the control element prevents signal transmission on the communication bus when the receiver unit is in the sensing state.
