<p>1289925 Alloys for addition to cast iron COMPAGNIE PECHINEY 19 April 1971 [16 April 1970] 26748/71 Headings C7A and C7D A master alloy for the treatment of cast iron comprises:- Si 40-55% Mg 3-15% Ba 1À4-8À6% N such that the ratio Ba:N is from 5:1 to 50:1 and the ratio Mg:Ba being from 1:1 to 3:1 with balance Fe and less than 2À5% impurities. The alloy is added to molten cast iron at a temperature in the range 1460-1520‹C. about 10-15 mins before casting and the resultant cast iron contains spheroidal graphite in a ferrite matrix.</p> |
