The product may then be washed with de-ionized water until the effluent has a pH of at least 6, washed with alcohol under reduced pressure and then dried under vacuum. The amalgamated particles are then compacted to form the anode body which contains trace amounts of inert ions derived from the acid and integrally united to the zinc at specific lattice sites. |
