Substd beta aminopropiophenones Amides of formula I, where A= CH2CH2, R1, R2 and R3 =H (1-5C) alkyl, OH or (1-5C) or alkyl and R4=H or (1-5C) alkyl, and their salts, are used in the treatment of heart and circulatory disorders. (I) are prepd by hydrogenating the corresp. vinyl amide (A=CH=CH) in a polar solvent (not a pure alkanol) over a Pt catalyst at 30-70 degrees C.
