1384155 Laminated coated packaging material KRAFTCO CORP 24 Oct 1972 [8 Nov 1971] 49013/72 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions B2 and B8] A laminated packaging material comprises in sequential order from the exterior of the materialas it is to be used to the interior, a metal foil, e.g. an aluminium foil coated with a vinyl resin on its exposed surface, a plastics substrate and a heat-sealable coating, said plastics substrate being selected from polyester, polyamide and polypropylene films and being preferably biaxially oriented and said heat-sealable coating comprising a copolymer of vinyl acetate and ethylene, a microcrystalline wax and a paraffin wax. The packaging material may be made by applying a suitable adhesive to the plastics substrate, adhering the metal foil to the adhesive, depositing the vinyl coating directly on the exposed metal foil surface from a solvent solution; evaporating the solvent and applying the heat sealable coating, e.g. by a gravure cylinder to the exposed surface of the plastics substrate. |
