Electric arc is formed between the carbon electrode to be coated and a side electrode, which moves along the carbon electrode whilst the latter is rotated so that the path of the ore on the surface of the carbon electrode is helical (and overlapping). The current is pref 1000-1250A. and the width of the path is 10-18 mm. Magnetic field is used in such a manner that the electric core is broadened, whereby its path is widened and, hence the coating process is accelerated. |
