The brake governor has a member which extends beyond it and which, during braking, moves towards the projecting knob of a lever actuated by a cylinder. This connects an eyelet component of the governor to the lever. The projecting knob of the lever is mechanically separated from the governor. The stop for the governor is adjustable so that pressure is applied direct to the brake until the stop position is reached. After this point, further pressure is applied against the resilience of the governor.
