Bonnet- or boot support for vehicles - with a supporting rod and pivoting guide sections

The supporting rod is fastened to the cover to be opened, while the guide section is pivoting fastened to the vehicle body. The guide has a guide channel, which longitudinally guides the rod. When the cover is opened upwards, the rod supports itself in the guide, after a slight swivelling movement. The guide channel consists of two parts. The first part is of a width, corresponding to the rod thickness. The second part is angled-off the first, being directed towards the door. The width of this part is dimensioned, to allow for the swivelling of the rod.
